The immense richness of the French Riviera is not just the sea, these famous cities, town, villages and events, there are also its mountains called Mediterranean Alps and Mercantour-Argentera massif, which climb up more then 3000 meters. This natural resource, much of it still a wilderness, offers unforgettable opportunities for hiking, observing the flora and fauna and engaging winter sports in the few major ski resorts like Isola 2000, Auron and Beuil-Valberg. In total they offer 710 km of ski runs with 134 ski lifts and the possibility for heli skiing, cross country skiing and hiking in snow shoes.
Between the coast and the mountains you will find the hinterland with the area of Mougins, Grasse, Valbonne, Biot, Opio, Saint Paul, Vence and its valleys Var, Vésubie, Tinée and Roya.
The French Riviera is also the perfect destination for golfers. There are 21 golf courses in the region and 19 are open all year round.
There is a lot of history, culture, art, different landscapes, villages, monuments, museums, parks and gardens to discover.
Its international stance has allowed the French Riviera to diversify its economy and to become home for many high-tech companies, whilst already enjoying world recognition as a tourist destination.
